Cucumbers

Step 1: Cut the cucumber into thin slices and then cut those slices into fourths.

Step 3: Let the cucumber sit for ten to fifteen minutes, long enough for your gums to absorb the cucumber juice.

The great thing about this method is that it is safe enough to use as many time as needed to help reduce the pain and swelling.

Black Tea

If you love black tea, now you have an excuse to drink it. Black tea is full of anti-inflammatory properties, so drinking it will help reduce inflammation in the gums and reduce the amount of pain you are experiencing. Even better, black tea is a natural bacteria fighter, so it will remove the harmful bacteria in your mouth, allowing your teeth to heal faster and healthier.

There are two ways that you can use this helpful trick for your pain needs. You can simply boil a pot of black tea and drink it, swishing it around in your mouth before you swallow. Or you can place the warm tea bag in your mouth over the area which is causing the most pain and let your gums absorb the tea.

Garlic

Garlic is really a cure all for various different ailments of the body. Allicin is an anti-bacterial agent that is found in garlic and it kills the bacteria that causes swelling and inflammation, relieving pain and giving you comfort.

For this method, you will need to crush three garlic cloves into a teaspoon of olive oil. Once these two ingredients are completely mixed together, use a cotton swab to apply the mixture directly to the area of your mouth that is experiencing the most pain. Let it sit on your gums for twenty minutes before washing your mouth out. This will help to improve the blood flow to your gums, easing the swelling.

The pain after getting a dental crown doesn't have to be unbearable if you don't believe in taking over-the-counter medications.
